What is Reiki?

Reiki (ray-key) is a Japanese word that means "Universal Life Energy", "Rei" describes the universal, boundless aspect of this energy while the "ki" is the vital life force energy which flows through all living things. Reiki is a holistic ancient Tibetan restoration system which is very gentle, yet powerful.

What we are trying to do?

We often offer a Reiki first degree and second degree certification workshop in order to introduce this highly effective restorative art to anyone interested in learning and receiving the attunements for this ancient nurturing, gentle, and peaceful art.

Why are we offering these workshops?

We feel that it is important that students have opportunities to study all sides of the martial arts, the physical (hurting and restorative), the mental (philosophical, meditative, and intellectual), and the spiritual (character development) sides of the martial arts. A Reiki workshop will open you up to the natural restorative aspects of the use of "ki" (energy). In the martial arts we use "ki" for destruction and for restoration. Your knowledge of both aspects will help to balance your development as a martial artist.

How does Reiki work?

Reiki is a nurturing, peaceful, and gentle art which empowers our hands to channel high vibrational energy (Ki) for the promotion of healing, relaxation, and general well being on many levels; physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. It works to help the body come back to energy balance so that it can heal itself.

Is it hard to learn?

Reiki is easy to learn and simple to use. It is unique in that we can use this restorative  energy on ourselves, as well as on others and it works great on plants
and animals.

Can Reiki be used with other methods of bodywork?

Reiki is a complete restorative system in itself, but it is a very effective adjunct to all other bodywork methods and personal growth techniques.

What will we be doing at the Workshop?

Reiki is not taught in the same way that other restorative arts are taught. Reiki is transferred to the student by the Reiki Master during a series of attunements. This attunement process seals open your energy channels and opens your energy centers to create a special link between the student and the Reiki source. Thereafter, for the rest of your life, when you place your hands on an individual with the intention of restoring energy balance to their body, the Reiki energy will flow. Reiki flows so easily that just thinking or talking about it will make it available to you.

In the Reiki 1 workshop you will:
